The Wand

In an effort to give our patients the highest quality dental care while addressing their concerns about the pain, fear, and anxiety associated with standard syringe injections, we now use THE WAND Computer Controlled Local Anesthesia Delivery System.

THE WAND doesn’t look like a traditional syringe, so the patient’s initial apprehension is minimized. Then during the actual injection the development of an anesthetic pathway combined with computer controlled constant flow assures that there is minimal awareness that the injection is even being administered. The combination of visual difference and painless performance makes for a much more positive overall experience.

The computer controls a flow of anesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This numbs the site of injection, and develops a "pathway of anesthesia" so you hardly feel the needle at all.

The source of most discomfort for injections, however, isn't the needle. Its the flow of the anesthetic into the tissues of the mouth. Unlike traditional syringes, THE WAND delivers anesthetic at an optimal flow rate for a comfortable injection every time.

Digital Radiography

As part of our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to our patients, we are now using digital technology to take our x-rays. Among the many advantages to using digital radiology are:

• The ability to enlarge and clarify images for better diagnosis
• Easier communication with other practitioners and specialists
• Easier to show patients
• Better for the environment by eliminating developing and processing chemicals

Electronic Records

The health care industry is moving toward using electronic health records that can be stored on computers and emailed to insurers and other practitioners. Electronic records are instantly available whenever and wherever needed, and are always up to date. The potential problems of lost paper records due to fire or flood, or misplaced records are eliminated. Our office uses the latest and best dental software record keeping available.
